Backstage® is a tailored content management system that helps users oversee their digital experiences, look at apps data, and monitor how well things are performing. It provides various options for layout and branding, making it simple for customers to craft unique video experiences.
Together with the team, we reimagined Backstage® to emphasise data, insights, personalisation, and enhanced branding. We introduced features like a new navigation design, quick editing tools, and better page previews to ensure a smoother and more user-friendly experience.

My role
Within the dedicated team, I took the initiative to lead the comprehensive design process, guiding the project all the way from the initial concept phase to the final proposal stage, with a strong emphasis on creating an exceptional user experience.

Our main challenge was to establish this new design vision in a single sprint week, working within a strategic framework that aligned with business goals and user needs. Additionally, as part of a co-design approach, I collaborated with my colleague and led the design process through hands-on workshops to ensure alignment across teams and clear, actionable outcomes.

Introduced a redesigned, intuitive navigation structure, allowing users to access key features and data insights efficiently.
Analytics & Insights
Developed the interface for analytics and data visualization to empower users with meaningful insights into app and content performance.
Feature Innovation
Developed new features such as a Contextual Assistant for real-time in-app guidance based on user needs and Expert Support for instant expert assistance to enhance customer support.
Design workshops
I led workshops that helped stakeholders and teams quickly test and refine design ideas, align on project goals, and agree on a design direction for smooth execution and support.
Result & Impact
Product Evolution
The redesigned concept for Backstage® was well-received by stakeholders and established a foundation for a new, data-centric product direction. This approach and new feature set were subsequently incorporated into the roadmap, positioning Backstage as a more data-driven and user-focused platform that supports strategic growth for video service providers, broadcasters, and OTT companies.
